In the small town of Allentown, PA in the USA, there is the South Mall, which is hanging on despite hundreds of other malls closing around the country.
And in that mall there is one hell of an arcade.
An 80s themed arcade!
Not only does it have a cool name and logo, which is obviously a play on Back to the Future, but Back to the Arcade is kitted out in 80s decor and some of the most classic of 80s arcade games.
The video gives a pretty cool walk-through of the place and shows off some of the 80s video games they have there (as well as some more modern ones).
- Defender
- Robotron
- Stargate
- Scramble
- Dig Dug
- Qbert Qubes
- A bunch of Pac-Man games
- Congo Bongo
- Frogger
- Space Invaders
- Asteroids
- Lady Bug
- Out Run
- Operation Wolf
- Mortal Kombat 3
- Street Fighter 2
They also have an impressive list of Pinball Machines, which while not completely 80s, I cannot go past listing them as I love pinball machines!
- Adams’ Family
- Sword of Fury
- Southpark
- Tommy The Who
- Baseball
- Jurassic Park
- Rush
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- The Munsters
- Led Zeppelin
- Mandalorian
- Godzilla
I really love seeing places like this. It makes my heart sing a little that the arcade – especially the 80s arcade vibe – is still alive and well.
Let’s hope the mall survives so this arcade can.
Do you have any cool arcades near you?
